Rome Wasn't Built In A Day (and neither was this website!) was an independent study project for one of the numerous Art History classes I took in community college. My proposal was to create a navigable 3-d model of a Roman domus. I modeled it in the now-defunct Adobe Atmosphere program. I'm bummed that Atmosphere didn't get developed any further, because it was super-easy to use and I spent countless hours making other little worlds in it. I've since worked on a 3d environment project in Director 3-D using 3D Studio Max to model. Although the latter site was more accessible (users typically already have the browser plug-ins installed), it required a heck of a lot more programming.
